How can video-calls be more immersive and less exhausting?
While the pandemic many where used to video calls, online classes, and online working. Most also experienced something called zoom-fatigue, which is the the exhaustion that comes from online meetings such as on the platform zoom. Hörer is a setup for online talking, discussing and entertain in a sound sphere in which all call-participants are placed in the physical space around the user.

The thesis was that the main reason of the well known zoom-fatigue which is based on the singular, linear and compressed sound of the other call participants. The setup enabled through Abelton-Live, processing, the Sennheiser Ambeo Plug-In and Sono-Bus created a sound sphere around every participant in their own physical space, where the other participants get arranged. By turning his head the User can adjust the Volume and the direction of sound corresponded to the place from which it is coming. By turn in to direction of which a call participant is talking enables the user to listen to specific people in a noisy conversation or even don't listen to them, which is a much more natural way of talking together. We experienced way more engaging, immersive and less exhausting calls.
