Can you feel data?
On the idea of connecting some kind of live data to a wearable, we started out with a wide range of material experiments and a research on what kind of data we could use. We decided on using pressure sensors integrated in a shoe as input. To feel the pressure you put on your feet we designed a Vest with air chambers which are inflated or deflated accordingly.

We started with a vast research of different materials that we could influence in some way or we just found interesting. Artificially generated Foam, experiments with various materials which harden in a vacuum but are movable in a normal atmosphere. Head mounts with shifting weights and fabric-like materials which were exciting for us to test out. The air jacket was developed in 2 generations. The topic of balance was in our minds from the beginning throughout the whole process. Therefore, we tried to track the pressure zones of our feet with pressure sensors. In the process we had various performances which contributed to the further development of the concept. In the end we had a wearable consisted of the air Vest and the shoes which were the input device. We presented the whole thing in a final performance. Apart from a small bug we fixed live on stage, our product worked pretty well.
